1. How can I setup my Pop3 e-mail account in my computer?

To checking your email, your computer should installed some common email software such as MS Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Outlook Express or Thunderbird, etc The following are our setup guides:

  1. Microsoft Outlook (2003-2007) (Eng / Trad. Cht)

2. How can I setup my e-mail account in my mobile?

You can check your email by using your mobile. The following are the setup guide:

  1. IPhone Mobile (Eng / Trad Cht)

3. How can I check email online from web?

Our email hosting customer can access the mail server under their hosting domain.

For example:

If your domain name is www.mydomain.com, your webmail URL is http://mail.mydomain.com

4. Can I setup my e-mail account from differnt device?

Yes, customer can setup their email account from different device. But, we suggest that the customer setup one device (E.g. Outlook) to download the email and other device is using IMAP to check email (Server Copy). Because the mailbox has a storage limiation, we suggest using Outlook to download all the email from one device and keep at least 2 days remaining email copies on server. Otherwise, parts of your email may be downloaded into different device. All the downloaded email which does not keep on server will be removed.

5. What should I do if a "user login failed" message prompts out when I check e-mail at Webnix e-mail account?

Possible Reasons:
a. You should check carefully with your username and password because they are case-sensitive. Username "David" is different from "david". Type in the correct one and try again.
b. Please check with your internet connection.
c. If your Outlook or Outlook Express displays the error code, you can contact our support and tell us the error code by phone at (852) 2720-8429 / (852) 2425-1826 immediately.

6. What shoud I do if my email box is full?

There has two options:

1. You can login your webmail and delete those spam email or delete any email.
2. If you did not setup email client software, please setup it at your computer and download all emails from server to clean up the server side email. If you have already setup the email client software in your computer, please open and receive all the email and keeps at least 2 days email copies at server side. You can download the setup guides for email client software at point 1.

7. How do I change my e-mail password?

You can login your webmail. Under the menu bar "Option", you can find the link called "Change Password". Or, you can send a email request to our technical support by email (cs@webnix.com).

8. What is the storage capacity of my e-mail account?

You can login your webmail and find your total storage and quota used under left-side menu of your webmail account.

9. What is the maximum file size of my attachments?

The maximum file size of your attachments is 8M Bytes. But for most other ISP, it has setup a limitation to prevent too large files size attachment. You should consider the receiver email box that can be accepted or not. You will get the error return if your attachment size is over after you send out the email.

10. What should I do if I can't receive or send mails?

You should check about the setting of Pop3 if you can't receive e-mail and the setting of SMTP if you can't send e-mail. If those settings have no problem but you still can't receive or send mails, you are welcomed to contact our technical support at cs@webnix.com.

11. Can I get back the password if I don't remember my password for my email account?

No, you cannot. For security, we don't record customer's password after we issue a notfication email for initial password of each account. In case you don't remember your password, please phone call to our hotline at (852) 2720-8429 / (852) 2425-1826. Our technical support will reset new password for your account to login again. After you receive our reset password, please go to webmail and change the password immediately.

12. I find that some email subject heading with "***SPAM***". What is this?

Our email server has spam filtering database. When our server detects your email coming from spam email server. Your email subject will show the heading with "***SAPM***". This action helps our customer to easily identifiy the spam email.

13.If my email box receive too many spam email, what should I do?

Firstly, you can login to your webmail account and change your SpamAssassin Configuration. Please click "Option" under the menu bar and click "SpamAssassin". After that, you can set two things:
  1. 1.You can add your known spam email address to black list.
  2. 2.Change the "Message Scoring Policy"

For the details information, you can follow the hints under "SpamAssassin". If those settings cannot solve it, you are welcomed to contact our technical support at cs@webnix.com.

14.How do I setup auto reply message if I am on leave?

You should login your webmail account and click "Option". And then, you click on "Autoresponder" and type in your auto reply message, subject. After, you click on "Enable autoresponder" button. If you want to cancel auto reply message, you can login the same page and click "Disable autoresponder". Our auto reply message is only supporting simple text message only.

15. What should I do if I check email online slowly?

This may be your Pop3 Accounts keeping too many emails. Since your email box has a storage limiation, we recommend our customer not to keep too many emails at server side. To speedup the webmail, you need to download your email to your MS Outlook or other email clients software and keep few days email copies remaining at server side (E.g. 10 days). You are welcomed to contact our technical support at cs@webnix.com if you want to know how to do it.

16.There is a two types of email forwarding. What is the difference between Pop3 with email forwarding and email forwarding?

1. Pop3 with Email Forwarding forwards one or more addresses at your domain to an existing mailbox. For example, if you have an e-mail account at myname@mydomain.com and want to forward the mails to your account at yahoo.com, you can subscribe Pop3 with email forwarding service.

All the incoming email will store at your Pop3 email account and forward a copy to your forwarding email address. Because the Pop3 account keeps on storing email at server side, there will be full if your do not clean out the email. Then, your account cannot receive email after quota is full.

2. Email Forwarding Only (Email Alias) forwards e-mail messages to another location. It must be associated with another e-mail address but it doesn't have its own storage space, username and password. For example, you would like one or more addresses at your domain such as sales@mydomain.com, info@mydomain.com and admin@mydomain.com to goto one Pop mailbox account - master@mydomain.com, email alias can serve this purpose.
